Cell phone manufacturers use different types of mobile phone displays all across the world. Over the last few years, technology has advanced a lot. The type of devices and technology that has been introduced was really hard to imagine by people some years ago.
In today’s world, we have crystal clear Displays and Touchscreen with excellent Resolution. Smartphones also come with a foldable display made of flexible material. In short, there have been a number of technological advancements made in the field.
In this article, we will learn and understand different types of mobile phone display as well as Mabinogi Mobile.
LCD (Most Popular Type of Mobile Phone Display)
LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) displays are the most common and widely used displays. Almost all the popular cell phone manufacturers use them because the users love them. These displays are basically made up of Liquid Crystals that do not emit light. These crystals are supported by SMD LED (Light Emitting Diodes) to illuminate the whole display while using.
Again LCD Displays are of following different types:
TFT LCD (Thin Film Transistor): This type of LCD Display consumes too much power. It is not used by popular mobile phone brands anymore. However, the manufacturers of cheap smartphones and feature phones still use them to avoid the cost of a good liquid crystal display.
IPS LCD (In-Place Switching): These displays are better than TFT LCDs. When compared, they consume less power which in turn becomes the reason to improve battery life. People also know these displays as Retina Display.
Resistive Touchscreen LCD: This display is a 2-Layered Display. The touch of this display is not very responsive or accurate. These displays are generally used in manufacturing low cost cheaper smartphones. The companies who make feature phones also use these.
Capacitive Touchscreen LCD: This type of display is also a 2-Layered display. However, it is considered much better than the Resistive Touchscreen. The Touch of this display is much responsive and accurate. Most popular brands use these displays in their smartphones.
OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode)
As compared to LCD, OLED is relatively a New Technology. It is used to manufacture Display for Smartphones, Tablets, Computer Screens, Laptops and TVs. SMD LED (Light Emitting Diodes) is not needed by the OLED Display to illuminate the whole display. Tech experts suggest that OLED is much better than LCD in terms of color and brightness. They have a better resolution, are very responsive, have a light weight and come with a wider viewing angle. OLED Displays also consume less power.
AMOLED (Latest Types of Mobile Phone Display)
AMOLED stands for Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode. They are the advanced version of OLED Displays. Being advanced, these displays also offer all of the advantages of OLED. Another advanced version of these displays is Super AMOLED Displays. They make the display look very thin and sleek.
What is a Gorilla Glass?
Gorilla Glass is a type of very strong glass shield. This shield is said to be very resistant to damage by accidental fall of the phone. These Glass Shields are responsible for protecting the display of the phone from scratches and cracking/breaking. Gorilla Glass comes in different varieties. Class 6 is said to be the latest and toughest version of Gorilla Glass that came out in 2019.
What is Display Resolution?
In order to understand Display Resolution, we must understand what is resolution, first. Resolution is the number of pixels or dots that can be displayed horizontally and vertically on a screen/ by a screen. Hence it is proved, the more the resolution, the better will be the Picture and Video Quality of that Screen or Display.
The qualities of these displays differ by the amount of resolution they provide to the screens.
This is pretty much all you need to know. We hope now you know all about different types of mobile phone displays. Whenever you decide to buy any electronic device, make sure to check what kind of display is used to make it.
